Do you know what it feels like to feel as though your mind has taken on a life all its own? Like it is calling the shots, and you are having an out-of-body experience watching it from an outsider's perspective, wishing you could regain some semblance of control? You can feel the thoughts racing, yet you can't regain control of the wheel. I do.

Trust is such an important aspect of how we lead. It shows up in every aspect of our professional journey. We often think of trust as an external experience. "Can I trust in the vision of my organization as I strive to meet objectives?" Or - " Am I putting my full trust in my team as we carry out the plans that we have created together?"

If there's one thing I'm proud of, it's my ability to be authentically me - as a business owner, as a mom, as a wife, and as a leader. Of all spaces, leadership authenticity is where I first tested the waters. And now I see evidence of that courage showing up in every part of my life. I'm proud because showing up with authenticity did not come naturally to me. Frankly, it was quite terrifying.
